We want to understand your city, your experience, your capital position and what you want to build. And we will be equally open about what May And Co expects. Good partnerships start with honest conversations.
Your route to opening
Every stage is designed to protect both sides. No stage commits you to the next — and we would rather be upfront about whether this is the right fit than rush into something neither of us is ready for.
The six stages
A realistic timeline is typically four to six months from first conversation to opening, depending on site availability, leasing timelines, fit-out schedules and your readiness.
We want to understand your city, your experience, your capital position and what you want to build. And we will be equally open about what May And Co expects. Good partnerships start with honest conversations.
We assess the retail environment, site position, rent and sales potential — specific to your market. The numbers have to work before anything else matters. If the location does not make commercial sense, we will tell you — and help you find one that does.
We assess capability, funding evidence and alignment with May And Co standards. This is not a formality — we invest in people, and the standard of our operators defines the standard of the brand.
Final tier, allocation, exclusions, territory and agreement terms — confirmed in writing. Everything is clear, everything is documented, and both sides know exactly what they are agreeing to.
Site approvals, fabrication, inventory, hiring, systems and training. We work alongside you through every step — because the quality of the preparation determines the quality of the opening.
Opening campaign, daily controls, replenishment and reviews. Your business begins — and our ongoing support begins with it. We stay close, especially in the early months when it matters most.
Who we look for
We are deliberately selective. May And Co works with people who have the judgement, the capital discipline and the commitment to build something that lasts. If you are looking for a logo to put on a kiosk and walk away, this is not the right franchise. If you want to build a serious jewellery business with a proven system behind you — let us talk.
Experience running or managing a business — ideally in retail, hospitality or a client-facing environment. Jewellery experience helps but is not essential.
Confirmed access to the required investment, with evidence. Funding must be in place before the commercial schedule stage begins.
Understanding of your city, your clients and the retail environments where gold jewellery is bought and trusted — wherever in the world that may be.
